Modern day Mexico City, once known as Tenochtitlan, sits atop of Lago Texcoco, where over a thousand years ago, the Tolteca people built the pyramid city of Teotihuacán. It is one of greatest and best-preserved archeological sites in Mexico.
The Aztec civilization had a fascination with the sky. It's astronomers studied celestial bodies in order to understand how humanity and the passage of time fit into the cycle of nature.
I observe these structures and I see shapes that remind me of the night sky. I seek a reflection of myself and my family's history in the ancient landscapes of Mexico.
